Lagos Police PRO reacts to reports that the state acting police commissioner, Imohimi Edgal, has been demoted

A report by Sahara Reporters claims that the acting commissioner of police in Lagos state, Imohimi Edgal, has been demoted. The Police Service Commission in a letter dated October 8, 2017, and titled: Withdrawal of Acting Appointment", allegedly reversed the positions of Lagos acting commissioner of police and that of Kogi state,  Aji Ali Janga to Deputy Commissioners of Police.

LIB reached out to the state police public relations officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole, to authenticate this report. According to Famous-Cole, the state command still has Imohimi as its commissioner and that if he is to be removed from office, it would be made official.

"Lagos state police commissioner still has the Commissioner of police as the acting CP, Imohimi Edgal. When the CP became the acting Commissioner of Police in Lagos state, it was official. If there is going to be any change, it would be official" he said.

ALOCHU, A DISTINCTIVE MORTAL

ALOCHU, A DISTINCTIVE MORTAL
By Andyson Iji Egbodo
At a time when the love of many has waxed cold and man's inhumanity to man has veered off satanically; at a time when people's heartlessness and barbarism have engulfed the earth; at a time when wickedness and cruelty have eaten up the fabric of love amongst men, at a time when men, even neighbouring tenants could catch their friends' children and chop off their hands and legs in a weak and flimsy excuse of attempting to steal a 40 leaves exercise book, at a time when people are hungry and angry, here comes a man with a different spirit.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet Odochu Ny'Amono, Chief Frank Alochu once. He again has rekindled hope in a cancer patient, Inyame Ogbaji yesterday in a Makurdi clinic with a lifeline donation for his surgery.

As I write, the boy might have been taken to the theatre already.
In January 2018, it will be the turn of four persons from each of the twenty three council wards of Oju/ Obi federal constituency in Benue State that will be empowered. Great man is he, isn't it?

ALOCHU FOUNDATION DONATES OVER N200 000 TO CANCER PATIENT, MIKE INYAME’S SURGERY

Following the payment, Dr Ngutor the surgeon at Foundation Memorial Hospital, Makurdi, who is in charge of the surgery to be carried out on Inyame said the operations would commence tomorrow.
President of Alochu Foudation, Chief Frank Alochu Ikpobu took the soccour to the patient when he visited the hospital accompanied by three of the foundation directors including James Ibechi, Peter Ogbaji and Chris Ijale.
In the company of Chief Alochu was also the wife of Deputy Majority Leader of the Benue State House of Assembly, Adiya Eworo who had also been championing the cause of donations from some other members of the public, charity workers Ukan Kurugh and Patience Patience Ekonyohe Daniel Odohel Odoh.
According to Dr, Ngutor, Inyame's treatment would gulp over N800 000.
However, he said that with the major donation from Chief Alochu, first operations could begin.
Chief Alochu called on spirited individuals, governmental and non-governmental organizations to contribute and help save the patient’s life.

Bizzare: Beautiful new wife dies suddenly during honeymoon, leaving groom heartbroken

A groom has been left heartbroken after his new wife died suddenly during their honeymoon in Fiji.
24-year-old Kelly Clarke, a post-operative nurse at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, fell ill on Wednesday but dismissed it as a stomach bug and went to bed to sleep it off. However, she got worse the following day and was rushed to the hospital where she was initially diagnosed with typhoid fever. In no time, Kelly went into septic shock and died in hospital on Friday night while waiting for a medevac team to arrive.

Her heartbroken husband Chase says he was able to speak to her one last time before she died and she told him she was afraid she might die, but he reassured her that everything was going to be fine. He was at their hotel collecting their belongings when doctors placed her in an induced coma.
"I spoke to her and she told me she was scared she was going to die," Chase told Nine News . "I just told her I love her, 'we're going to get out of here, everything's going to be ok'. She'd gone into septic shock, she was panting heavily, she could barely speak to me."

Chase said the family have been told Kelly died from severe bilateral pneumonia. Experts suspect Kelly, who had contracted the chronic immune disorder lupus earlier this year, would most likely have been treated with steroids which damages the immune system further and increases the risk of infection.
Infectious diseases expert at Sydney University Robert Booy said: "Lupus can weaken the lungs directly, so they may have already been damaged, increasing the risk of pneumonia and infections."
Chase and Kelly, from New South Wales, Australia, married in April this year and were planning their honeymoon for later in the year.

READ FULL SPEECH OF IGEDE POSITIVE YOUTHS FOR ORTOM 2019, PRESENTED BY HON EMMANUEL OKO JP

SPEECH BY THE COORDINATOR OF IGEDE POSITIVE YOUTHS FOR ORTOM 2019, BY HON EMMANUEL OKO JP ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR SOLIDARITY VISIT TO HIS EXCELLENCY, THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF BENUE STATE, CHIEF DR. SAMUEL ORTOM ON 11TH SEPTEMBER, 2017.

Today is a great day to all of us gathered here to witness the endorsement of our amiable Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom by the Igede Positive Youths. We count it a rare privilege and we thank the Almighty God for making this day a reality and to you for the opportunity granted to s in spite of the crowded nature of your schedule.
Indeed we are happy to be counted among the numerous admirers of this administration, to be specific, let me say that we are proud by the grace of God to be part of the group, the foot soldiers which install this administration which have yielded the dividends and sought about the victory and joy that we and indeed the Benue People are sharing today.

The foresight and the collective faith we  and the good people of  Benue have in the able and dynamics leadership of your Excellency heightened our collective resolve and to work assiduously for the enthronement of this administration, we consider it worthwhile to express our sincere appreciation to God for the well- matched , like minded and compatible pair, and to say a very big congratulations for making yourself an instrument of God in this regards, especially in the struggle to deliver Benue people from the doldrums of acute poverty and underdevelopment.

Your Excellency Sir, when you came in as Governor 29th May 2015, you met a lot of challenges ranging from shortage of funds compared to what was coming into the state as her allocation, security problems, poverty and underdevelopment. You started work of rebuilding Benue just like what Nehemiah did in the Bible which met with stiff neck people like Sanballat and Tobias trying to stop your good work and the Ahitophes who were bent on given advices that would prevent you from doing the good work that God laid in your heart for Benue People , but today , God has helped you so far and we can count even with the lean resources what and what you have done for the people of the state whom you have come to govern and in particular Igede Nation.

Your Excellency Sir, we have watched keenly this administration’s effort to put Benue State in the front banner, we want to appreciate you for that and to say thank you that Igede Nation is not left out in all your programmes. Your gaint strides in the areas of agriculture (you have built and equipped for use the Beneseed clearing and processing plant at Oju Local Government), when this is fully put to use , our Beneseed would be exported to other countries of the world , we say thank you Sir. Health, (graduation of three sets of medical students from Benue State University, of which Igede sons are among, building and equipping of four primary health care in Oju, provision of Aso Rock Villa standard ambulance to Oju General Hospital, this may sound funny, but in critical situations of health, what we have in Oju General hospital can help take care of emergency. We say thank you Sir. Infrastructural developments such as rural roads, the ongoing Oju-Obusa-Idelle- Utonkon rod which you have mobilized back to site and they are working, rural electrification at Ibilla and Uje are all your strides. Education: construction/ renovation of over 700 classrooms across that state with a lot of these in both Oju and Obi to boost healthy school environment for greater learning. Social welfare schemes for women, N-power targeted at the youths of which many Igede sons and daughters are beneficiaries. Click to read more
