PayPorte donates millions of naira and food items to orphans in partnership With Miyonse

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, PayPorte, your preferred online store, has donated millions of Naira and food items to orphanage homes in partnership with the Ex-BBNaija housemate, Miyonse.
The event, which took place in Lagos and tagged “PayPorte Feast of Love” fed over 300 orphans and showered many gift items to the various orphanage homes.
Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer, PayPorte, Bassey Eyo, said the initiative was in line with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility in affecting the quality of lives in its community through strategic partnerships.
“We felt the need to show love to the most deserving members of our community as part of Valentine celebration. We believe they deserve more care and attention, especially as the nation is faced with recession”. He said.
"We hope our collaboration with Chef Miyonse will make a little impact in the lives of orphans. So, rather than spend time in a cozy and relaxing place for the Valentine season, we sought a more strategic way of sharing love and there is no other place most touching than with these orphans who deserve our care and love.  We believe that this on-going partnership with Chef Miyonse will deliver tangible benefits and impacts in the lives of the orphans and the orphanage homes," Bassey, added.

WE ARE PASSING THROUGH HELL FIRE : OJU-AWAJI ROAD A DEATH TRAP.

OJU-AWAJI ROAD A DEATH TRAP.
By
Egbe Emmanuel Ijuoh

Oju local government Area of Benue state is one of the oldest Local government in the state, it was created since 1976 it has boundaries with Yala local government in Cross Rivers state, Ado, Konshisha, Gwer, and Obi local Government areas. The people are predominantly farmers and have contributed so much in terms of Agriculture that has given the state food basket of the nation but " No presence of Government" both state and the federal despite the Internally generated revenue from this part of the state. I make bold to say this because as a business man cum Politician I know the farm produce that are being transferred or transported out of Oju local government everyday and revenue is been collected for both the state and the local government Infact these revenue has increased by 100% from what we use to pay and it has affected the economy activities of our people because of the death trap we call road.

YOUTHS AS A CATALYST TO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

YOUTHS AS A CATALYST TO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
By
Comrade Ben I. Obega

Igede National Youths Council (INYC) is deserved to be commended. Perhaps, some people may ignorantly trivialize the operational existence of such a National Group that formed integral part of community development anywhere in the world. For many years ago, it is factual that youth operations in Igede Nation were not under a definite operative ‘umbrella’. That explains how difficult it was to draw common interest home. History will therefore, not forget the founders of this noble council who indeed, earned my respect by initiating this legitimate association as an instrument of Igede Community Development. Yes, no lucrative project in life is devoid of challenges, challenges of some political players trying to perforate an ‘insulated wall’ that protect the group. Challenges of socio-economic inequality and challenges of diversity of opinions over a common project, were some of the factors I personally observed to have been waging war against the rapid growth of Igede National Youths Council. That of course, paves way for series of iminiature affiliate associations capable of dis-integrating mutual understanding among the youths.
However, the significant role of some founding comrades like Alo Ominyi Moses (Alias Amco), Ajoma Success, Armstrong, Iji Egbodo Andyson and many others in keeping Igede Youth agenda a life, is highly rewarding. The timely supporting role of the youths in diaspora mostly from Kaduna and Niger State Branches is a clear manifestation of how effective Igede National Youth Council is. There is no doubt the quality of every society’s future generation is largely measured by the action(s) of present youths in a society. That was what ushered some of us at our youthful age, participating and morally invest into youths activities. Of course, one without moral sentiment have no option than to blow the trumpet of the previous administration led by Alo Ominyi Moses for fair representation of Igede Youth Voice at state and local government level, optimal organization of several fora where highly resourceful personnels constantly educating the youth for better contribution to societal projects.

Breaking News: Acting President Yemi Osibanjo can be impeached for failure to transmit the recommendation of National Judicial Council.

Acting President Yemi Osibanjo can be impeached for failure to transmit the recommendation of National Judicial Council.
By Bar Joshua Alobo

An interesting twist to the imbroglio on the appointment of substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria assumed an interesting dimension as a Constitutional and Human Rights Advocate, Chief Joshua Esim Alobo filed an action for mandamus before The Federal High Court on Monday 6th February, 2017 and the suit was assigned to Hon Justice Kafarati, (Court 2) on Tuesday by the Chief Judge. In the Suit Chief Joshua Esim Alobo v President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Attorney General of the Federation, ABJ/CS/192/2017. The 12 paragraph affidavit deposed to by John Okpabi Egbe, Litigation Secretary in the law firm of Chief J. Alobo & Co particularly paragraph 10 and 11 captured the kernel of the legal action to wit: “That the failure of the President to transmit the recommendation of the National Judicial Council constitutes dereliction of sacred constitutional duty imposed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. That it is an impeachable offence for the President to hold the Judiciary to ransom thereby threatening the fulcrum of constitutional democracy, rule of law and impartiality of the judiciary.” more after the cut
