OJU II STAKEHOLDERS MEETING ON THE ZONING....Eka A'adu Dickson

REPORT OF THE OJU II STAKEHOLDERS MEETING ON THE ZONING OF THE OJU II STATE CONSTITUENCY SEAT HELD ON 30TH MARCH 2022

Prior to today's meeting, the three clans of Ainu, Idelle and Uwokwu had their individual meetings yesterday and having agreed that the meeting shall hold today, they appointed their Speakers and Representatives to speak for them in the meeting.
PROCEEDINGS

The meeting was temporarily disrupted by the invasion of thugs and attack on some personalities but was later put in control and the venue was shifted.
After reconvening, the 3 Clan Presidents of Ainu, Idelle and Uwokwu presided over the meeting as co-chairmen.
A minute silent was observed in honour of many of our fallen heroes, Hon. Ulaka, Hon. Agi Ukwuru, Hon. Obo Ode, Mr. Egbede and His Eminence, Arch. Bishop Sunday Idoko.
The meeting commended Hon. Ire Owuru for allowing a hitch-free zoning despite all that he faced during his tenure.
The meeting further frowned at the Ainu Clan and the current occupant of the position, Hon. Okanga Okponya for not been able to call the people of Zone C (Oju II) to at least thank them for giving them a free mandate and the huge support they received from their brothers.
Raising the arguments, Ainu argued that since Uwokwu once started the rotation and Idelle once started the rotation, they begged to start this time.
Idelle argued that they're very much deserving of the position as it's been long they occupied the office.
Uwokwu argued that since the position has gone round, they should start the new rotation as the eldest clan in the Constituency.
After several arguments with different points, a three man committee comprising each of the three clans together with the three clans Presidents were mandated to consider the three arguments and shape the new order of rotation.
RESOLUTION
Having appraised
all the arguments raised and their substances, the Committee resolved that to avoid similar arguments going forward, there should be a basis for rotation which it was agreed should be by seniority of the clans.
The Congress therefore resolved and zoned the position of the House of Assembly seat for the Oju II State Constituency to Uwokwu clan for a period of 4 years of one tenure and concluded that going forward, rotation shall be based on the seniority of clans.
The Congress concluded that this meeting should be held more frequently to address all issues in Oju II with the three clans Presidents presiding.
The Uwokwu clan which was favoured with the peaceful zoning was asked to dialogue with themselves and if possible bring a consensus candidate for Oju II Stakeholders for consideration.
Uwokwu people consulted briefly within themselves and on their behalf, the President of the Uwokwu Development Union, Engr. Jacob Okwute Ogah presented Comr. Isaac Arubi as the consensus Candidate from Uwokwu and was accepted by the larger Oju II Stakeholders.
All political parties are mandated to accept this zoning in line with our usual practice.
Henceforth, any individual or clan that presents any other aspirant outside the zoning clan shall be punished accordingly.
God bless Oju II (Uwokwu State Constituency)
Signed
