Read the Mind blowing piece by Otor Ade on the First class Chieftancy Saga

A selected Chief is supposed to be loved and respected by his subjects.

By Ade Joseph Otor

A functional Chief deserves legitimacy which is the wire of his recognition. We should look beyond a tenure of a government that ends in the next 2 or 4 years. What is happening in IGEDE is most unfortunate. It is quite unfortunate that the interest playing out is made too glaring.
The few Igede sons commissioned to execute the hatchet job should look back in history. Such infractions on the sacred cultural issue has brought refraction and repercussions in the recent past. You can manipulate the process, but you can't manipulate the conscience of the people. Imperatively, the government by now must be beware that even those commissioned to execute the plan have not demonstrated the expected odd wisdom. It should be known that this government will not be the last government in Benue. It is most regrettable and mind-buggling that the government and its commissioned personages could not understand the dynamics and percularities of IGEDE.. It is painful that the government could not stage manage its interest in such a delicate exercise and, this is running counter productive. This is suprising at a time when democratic governance is pretentiously made preponderant..

Remember too that every seed of discord sown amongst a tribe and its people grows to shelve down its leafs some days..
As for me,I have taken an impression from Plato's deep thoughts. The just man today can only be tested when given same opportunities with the unjust man..It is not enough to push through an agenda. The difficulty is with winning the minds and the heads of the people.Every con action has a coin with which you pay for it,either today or whenever....read more

WE CAN MAKE IT EVEN IN THIS PRESENT ECONOMIC SITUATION IN NIGERIA.

WE CAN MAKE IT EVEN IN THIS PRESENT ECONOMIC SITUATION IN NIGERIA.
by Egbe Emmanuel
The demands of an intricate Nigeria requires perseverance, trust and more than hardwork. Most times it requires diplomacy and pragmatism, innovation and mostly lobbying, lobbying all the components to sing same rhythm and chorus same tunes. We have as a people dwelled too much on whom we are or where we are from. It is high time we began to set goals and targets for ourselves, let us for instance plan to develop our country to be at par with a certain country, let us start talking the number of jobs a sectors will create over time, let us talk of how many tonnes of rice, cassava, yam powder and or palm oil we will be exporting over time. It is better we start discussing the benefits of integration and harmonious cordial relationship. In the manufacturing of a car for instance, the role played by the Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Tiv, Igede, Idoma, Kambari, Gwari, Gwandara or Okun man or woman cannot be differentiated from just looking at the car, but all they worked towards is the manufacturing of such car. Same when austerity comes, when terrorists target us, when natural disasters come, and even poverty knows no tribe neither does it recognizes religion or region. We might have a difference of background tribe and religion but those are ingredients that make other nations great, we can do it, with everyone bringing his or her experience to bear. We should stick to the addage that says two good heads are better than one. Let's unite, in belief, in trust, in building a great nation. EGBE EMMANUEL IJUOH MD/CEO Armstrong Ventures international

Why I Will Never Contest Against Buhari – Tinubu

Why I Will Never Contest Against Buhari – Tinubu

National Leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that he would never contest any election against President Muhammadu Buhari.
He also stated that he would never support anyone who contest against him.
It will be recalled that the former Governor of Lagos had, during the inauguration ceremony of Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu said that he wouldn’t ‘brush aside’ possibility of running for the office of the President.
Tinubu in a statement by his media aide, Tunde Rahman, said he was not planning to run for president in 2019, as reported in some sections of the media.

The statement reads: “This scam will fail. Asiwaju supports and stands behind President Buhari. He wishes the President well and that he returns soon. Whether the President is here or away, he has the full loyalty of Asiwaju Tinubu.
“President Buhari can rest assured on this point: Asiwaju Tinubu will never contest against him nor will he support anyone who does.  Asiwaju is acknowledged to be the intellectual father and the driving force behind the APC. It makes no sense that he would abandon the party that he worked hard to build in order to enter the dilapidated building the PDP has become.

Dressed in a grey off-the-shoulder dress and matching over-the-knee boot, the Barbados beauty looked ravishing as she accepted her award plaque from Allen Counter, the director of the Harvard Foundation. Rihanna, who never made it past high school, could not hide her excitement at receiving an award from a prestigious university and she made it known during her speech.
"So I made it to Harvard," she began and received cheers from the audience. She went on to inform her audience that one did not need to have too much in order to help others.
"You don’t have to be rich to be a humanitarian. You don’t have to be rich to help somebody. You don’t gotta be famous. You don’t even have to be college-educated. I mean, I wish I was … especially today."
Earning the Humanitarian of the Year award puts Rihanna in the same category with others who had previously received same award like; actor James Earl Jones, tennis player Arthur Ashe, and activist Malala Yousafzai.

Just In: NBC Withdraws 54 Licenses From Radio Companies. by Naija Voice

NBC Withdraws 54 Licenses From Radio Companies.
Abuja, March 1, 2017 (TNE): The regulatory body, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has wielded its axe against 54 companies, revoking their radio licences with immediate effect, The Nigerian Expression can authoritatively report.
Sources at the NBC told the publication on the condition of anonymity, that the provisional FM radio licences that the commission offered to the companies in 2015 were revoked after they either failed to pay the licence fee or commence operations within the stipulated time frame.
”’The law guiding the award of provisional licences is very clear. Once granted the licence, you have 60 days to pay for it and a two-year period to come on air,” the source, a very senior official at the Commission, told the publication.
”It then means that if you fail to make payment within the stipulated time or could not come on air within two years, the licence offered to you is automatically revoked.”
The 54 affected companies constitute the first batch of licencees that will be affected as the Commission, under a new, vibrant leadership, commences a mass review of the award of licences, especially FM Radio licences.
The Nigerian Expression reports that cases involving another batch of 124 companies are being reviewed. In fact, it was learnt that the companies, most of which actually paid within 60 days of being awarded their licences, may have their licences revoked for failing to start operations within the stipulated time.
”These new set of 124 companies will be given a few weeks’ notice to commence operations or lose their licences,” the source said.
Another review being carried out by the NBC involves FM radio stations that are operating outside the set criteria, especially the capacity of their transmitters.
”’No FM station can operate with over 2-kW transmitter. However, the situation currently is such that a number of FM stations are operating far above the stipulated transmitter capacity.
