RE: OPEN LETTER TO PROF ODE OJOWU BY KINGSTON ONA
Dear Mr Kingston Ona, STOP DANCING NAKEDLY
I took time to read your open letter addressed to Prof. Ode Ojowu on the Adirahu Igede debacle where you conspicuously mentioned my name, at times libelously. I can't remember having any social, political and whatsoever contact with you before. I may not even be able to pick your face in a crowd. I only asked to know you are one of the Ejugwus from Uje-Anchim. That's all. I really don't feel obliged to communicate with you in any form since I don't have any business with you but I am compelled to put this down for the records, sir. I have been told that you are very much my senior by birth so I will express my feelings politely.
Please note that I am not Prof. Ode Ojowu's personal assistant, neither am I related to him. Therefore, passing your open letter through me to him casts you below the belt.
I am not leading any illegal Youth group in IGEDE as you opined in your letter. One of your younger ones told me that your age is still in the Youthful bracket. I advise you to connect with the comity of Igede Youths so that you will be acquainted with Youth formations and our modus operandi in IGEDE Youth League. Just as you mentioned, there is IGEDE National Youth Council, IGEDE Youths Assembly, IGEDE Progressives Youth Forum, Oju Township Youth Movement and so on. We do work together as perfectly as you can imagine. We also have Obi Youths Assembly for Ito people. That you don't know all these makes us to know you and what you represent.

Benue's Top Social Media Activist Ukan Kurugh writes OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI
OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI
Dear President Buhari,
By
Ukan Kurugh
I hope you’re feeling better now. Me, my family and majority of the Benue people wish you a full recovery.
It breaks my heart to write this letter to you. My inward person is torn to tatters that it has come to this, but make no mistake it has come to it and I am left with no option but to express myself completely.
I am disappointed, nay disgusted by the apathy at which you have approached the crisis in the middle belt. The refusal to acknowledge it and the false sense of principle that seems to be driving it. I refuse to accept any reason even if it is refusal to generalize that the culprits are allegedly Fulani that keeps you from condemning these attacks. This is because by no stretch of anyone’s imagination can political correctness be worth more than the lives of your own citizens. This letter, I promise will spare no attempt to call a spade a spade and I will not embellish one iota of thought in it. Every life that is lost is already one life too many, hence I simply cannot afford to mince words.
I would like to point out to you that you campaigned on the auspices of providing security, if that security isn’t guaranteed for the defenseless farmers of the middle belt then it implies that we are either second class citizens not worthy of the resources at your disposal perhaps?......... more after the cut

Wike leave Gov. Samuel Ortom alone

Reading your reaction to the recent killings in Benue is quite good
because you have demonstrated compassion not just for the country but
for the people of Benue state over the recent incessant killings by
Fulani herdsmen. This is what we expect from our politicians and every
reasonable Nigerian to consider one another as brothers hence and injury
to one is a harm to all.
However
let me quickly remind you Gov Wike, leave Samuel Ortom alone, don't
call his personality into issues when we are in need of safety for our
people, this is not time to exhibit political tunes, I was expecting to
see your material and other goodwill donations to Benue people who are
affected but you have choosen name calling and insults which are all
characteristics of uncivilised people. Less you forget we have not
recovered from the several
Killings that happened as a result of your desperation to hold power in your state, APC party stewards were killed severally and you never left the contest like one who is passionate as you have expressed in your concern for the Benue people.
If you want to show your concern you may wish to assist the victims and just leave Ortom alone, though we are not happy with the reactions of our governor on the killings but leave him alone and face the several development and assassination issues that stare your state. As a good person we expected you to be a brother by assisting Ortom behind closed doors and call on federal government and other governors and security agents to come to the aid of Benue, not political showmanship on the media in guise of compassion.
We appreciate your vilgilance and concern for Benue but leave the personality of Ortom out of this, we know you both have some issues but behave like a man. Thanks

Breaking News: Still on the First Class Stool: I do not play God – A rejoinder; Prof Ojowu Replies Prof Johnson Onah
By
Ode Ojowu
In a recent interview with one Mr James Ibechi, Prof Johnson Onah was not fair to me when he accused me of playing God concerning his candidature for the post of the 1st Class chief for the I gede people. I am very saddened by this characterization of me and flatly deny that I play God. Rather, I have played and continue to play a fatherly role. It was never my intention to reveal to the public what roles I have been playing behind the scene. But now he gives me no other option than to explain myself publicly. Let me elaborate with a concrete example.
1. Based
on our agreement to meet, Prof Johnson Onah came and met me in my house in
Abuja on Monday Jan 23, 2017. We had a three-hour session on his ambition to
become the 1st Class Chief of the Igede people. This was one out of
themany previous meetings and consultations we had. At the end of the meeting
we agreed that I should contact Commissioner Ogah Ero, his first cousin and a
contender for the same post. I did.
2. The
following day, Tuesday morning January 24, the three of us met in my house
again in Abuja and the discussion was frank and honest between the two of them.
This meeting was the first between the two since Commissioner Ero joined the
race. At the end of the meeting, it was obviousnone was willing to step down
for the other. I expressed my gratitude to them for allowing me to mediate the
discussion. I advised that the two of
them should go home and reconcile the family in the spirit of the understanding
and the mutual respect for each other’s position that came out of the meeting.
3. However,
in the evening of Wednesday 25 January, Prof Johnson Onah sent me this text
message which I now reluctantly reproduce here as it was originally meant to be
private; “Good evening Sir, We arrived
Makurdi safelyyesterday. Wish to thank
you again for your commitment to our family unity. As the present head of the
family, I invite you to conclude the reconciliation efforts that you have
initiated. Please persuade CP OGA ERO to step down.” I turned down the
request and replied as follows: “I urge
that the two of you step up your communication”.
As a ‘father’ it was my decision
not to take sides with any one candidate, no matter how close they were to me.
As at the time of my interaction with Prof Onah and CP Ero, there were 10 other
aspirants known to me who all looked up to me for support. And I let each of
them know this stance of mine. This stance of mine is what I believe Prof
Johnson Onah decides totranslate to my “Playing God”and leading to his wrong belief
and conclusion that I am opposed to his candidature. Unfortunate!
With all modesty and sincerity, this
is not time for Prof Johnson Onah to show resentment, bitterness and
vilification. It is a time to woo and to persuade. In addition, I advisethat he,
right from the very beginning, stick to the honesty of purpose which he vows to
uphold if selected as chief. It does not help to know the real truth inside you
and yet give an alternative version to the public. ‘Post-truth’ era it is
called!
Now in particular that it has emerged that he
and his junior first cousin are the lead contenders, Prof Onahshould be
grateful first to God, even as he and CP Erocoordinate their strategies to
clinch the post for the family. Second, he should climb to roof tops along with
his cousin and indeed all members of his family, to woo and sing praises to the
Igede people for the rare honour about to be done to his family. This is my
minimum of expectation of him as the most senior member of his immediate(Ejugu)
family. Chieftaincy title in Igede is not a lineage property, but republican. Therefore,
we should be extra grateful that two candidates that have appeared dominant in
the racecome from his own family. But we should also be careful not take the
victory for granted.
Just a word about my relationship
with the family. I was introduced to the Ejugu family in 1969 as a young Grade
II teacher in the community. It was instant bonding between me and the family Patriarch,
Chief Isaac Onah Ejugu of blessed memory. His immediate junior brother of SAME
Father and Mother, Ero Ejugu is father to CP Oga. Prof Johnson Onah and CP Oga
Ero are therefore first cousins.Over the years, the young members of the family,
and they are many, have grown to adulthood, and the family even in its extended
form, is one of the most educationally advanced families, both in quantity and
quality, in all of Igede. Although I am not responsible for their progress, but
over 90 percent of this large family defer to me and consider me as a father
and mentor. So, when Johnson refers to me as the ‘head of the family’ in his
text message, it was not political flattery. I have more valid and better
reasons to be concerned for the sustenance of this family’s cohesion and
welfare than any other ‘outsider’. And I am indeed very concerned right now
about the avoidable crisis that the competition for the chieftaincy title has
generated in this otherwise progressive and peaceful family. I am determined,
in my own little way, to continue with my modestmediating role, no matter how
uncomfortable and unsettling it may look now.
Though I have taken much bashing over
the planned selection of the 1st Class Chief, I am convinced that
those who are senior enough to be driven by community interest rather than the
personal ambition to become a chief, must stay objectively above the mindset of
a contender. It is for this reason that I
urge the family of Johnson and Oga, and all others connected with and concerned
for the family to band together and unite behind these two candidates, so that
if and when the Igede people decide to pick one of the two as their chief, we
will be united in appreciation, victory and in rejoicing.
Still on the issue of an anointed
candidate from the official quarters. It is gratifying to note that His
Excellency Gov. Samuel Ortom has said publicly, and more than once, that
Government does not have a candidate and directed that the laid down procedures
for the selection of the chiefs be followed. In an interaction with the Deputy
Governor by some Igede political leaders, even after the botched selection
process of March 10 2017, he too confirmed that he had no candidate. It leaves
open the question as to who the shadowy officers of government are that
intimidate, humiliate, and threaten the traditional rulers from Igede to submit
to government wish for an anointed candidate. I personally think that it is
these people, whoever they are, that choose to disrespect the Governor’s political stamp of authority, disregard the administrative guidelines
and seek to subvert the law, that we
should beam our search light on. It is they who carry the potential for
violence. Igede youths, before and since 1999,have continued to demonstrate
maturity in political and cultural matters to the envy of many other
communities. They are not known to have ever disrupted any election since 1999,
no matter how contentious they were. Yet desperate contenders for office are
quick to refer to them as thugs. This is most unfair in my humble opinion.
I recommend strongly to government that when
next the selection is going to take place, officers of higher integrity and
respect for truth, who cannot be easily manipulated by these shadowy officials,
should be sent to supervise the selection process.
I will restate my advice for the
umpteenth time. Every candidate on the list for the 1st Class Chief
of Igede claims he is the choice of the people. This is normal claim in all
campaigns for positions. The only way to prove this claim is to subject it to
the will of the people, in this case through the laid down process of selection
that is transparently followed. All stakeholders must insist on this
transparency and government must ensure that this is done in a secure, free and
fair manner.
The selection of a chief is a
graceful undertaking and must therefore be conducted gracefully

Suswam faces fresh DSS probe over six new petitions
The ex-governor was said to have been emotional when his wife visited him on Thursday and said: “Help me beg the DSS and others to grant me bail on liberal terms. I need bail.”

The Department of State Security Service(DSS) has confronted a former
Governor of Benue State, Dr. Gabriel Suswam with six new petitions.
The case haul against the governor has now risen to seven, following
the initial investigation of the ex-governor’s link with a militia
leader in the state.
Suswam, who has been finding it difficult to
meet bail conditions, has, however, begged the DSS for liberal terms at
least to regain freedom to prepare his defence.
But he is
allowed access to his wife, Yemisi Suswam, and his counsel, Mr. J. B.
Daudu (SAN), who was a former President of the Nigerian Bar
Association(NBA).
The ex-governor was said to have been emotional when his wife visited him on Thursday and said: “Help me beg the DSS and others to grant me bail on liberal terms. I need bail.”
According to findings by our correspondent, Suswam has not been able to
give the DSS “credible clues” which could lead to the arrest of a
militia leader, Terwaze Akwazza (a.k.a Gana), who has held three local
government areas captive in Benue State.
The local government areas are Logo, Katsina-Ala and Ukum.
Akwazza was alleged to have either relocated to some parts of Cross River State or Rivers State.
But it was learnt that while the DSS was considering

Full Photo of Woman Beheaded by Ritualist in Badagry
A woman was brutally murdered by a man, Taofik Adara, in Badagry after seeking spiritual help.
The
arrested suspect said he was paid N4000 by a herbalist to kill the
woman.Adara, alias Kie-Kie, was paraded at the Lagos State Police
Command Headquarters, Ikeja.
During his confession, he claimed that he chopped off the woman’s head with a cutlass given to him by his hirers.
He
added that the victim had been hypnotised by a native doctor before he
killed her while two alfas (Islamic clerics) and a herbalist held her
hands.
Adara said:
“I live at Itoga-Zeba area of Badagry. I am a woodcutter by profession and at times I assist owners of coconut plantation to help pluck coconut.
“The whole drama started on Saturday evening when one of my herbalist friends known as Manase came to me to say that he was expecting two alfas from Sango Ota. He said they would be coming with a lady and that he would pay me N4000 to help butcher the woman. He told me that the two alfas needed some fresh human parts to prepare a concoction for one of their clients.
“True to his words, the two alfas arrived at Itoga on Sunday evening. I noticed that before their arrival the two alfas had used some charms on the lady. She was just obeying their directives without asking any question. I asked her where she came from and she explained that she resided at Ota and that she had gone to seek spiritual help from one of the alfas.
“Around 9am on Sunday we took the lady deep into the forest, close to a river. Manase asked her to kneel and she did. It was while she was still kneeling that I chopped off her head with a sharp cutlass given to me by Manase.”
He likened killing the woman to butchering a ram.
He
said after severing the victim’s head from her body, Manase instructed
him to hold on to the head, while he (herbalist) removed her heart and
two hands.
“Manase told me that the two alfas needed the lady’s head, heart and two hands from the wrist. He then took away the remains of the victim to use on a later day. It was while he was cutting off other essential human parts that a policeman who resides in our area arrived. The police would have arrested four of us if he had not shouted. The three of them took to their heels when they heard the noise.”
Adara said last Sunday’s incident was his
second involvement in such act. He said he killed another person about a
year ago, adding that the victim was also brought to him by his
herbalist friend.
According to him, Manase paid him N8000 for the first job.
“The first victim was also a woman. Manase had agreed to pay me N3000 but those who came for the human parts gave me an additional N5000 making it N8000,” he added.
The suspect, who has two wives and
15 children, begged for forgiveness, stressing that he would feel bad
if any member of his family was so treated.
Police Commissioner,
Fatai Owoseni said Adara was being detained at the Homicide Section of
the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) at Panti, Yaba,
Lagos Mainland.
He said all those involved in the Oct would be brought to book
