Suicide Attempt: Govt. Dragged For Failing To Charge Teebillz To Court

Popular social media influencer, Reno Omokri, has questioned the morality of charging a woman who tried to take her own life due to choking debts while a wealthy celebrity like Tunji Balogun (Teebillz) husband of popular singer, Tiwa Savage was not charged for also attempting suicide.
It will be recalled that last month, one Mrs. Taiwo Titilayo Momoh, a 51-year old textile dealer at Balogun Market, was rescued after jumping into Lagos Lagoon in a suicide attempt. She has since been arraigned by the Police and charged by a magistrate court for attempted suicide with her bail set at N500, 000.

A lot of Nigerians have questioned the morality of demanding half a million naira bail from her considering that the woman only tried to kill herself due to overwhelming money problems in the first place.
Commenting on the issue, Reno tweeted that rather than deter others from committing suicide, the punishment would only make them perfect the art of killing oneself. He wrote, “When, Tunji Tee Billz Balogun attempted suicide, nobody charged him for attempted suicide and rightly so. So why charge Mrs. Titilayo Momoh? The attempted suicide charge on Mrs Momoh wont deter prospective suicides, instead it will make them plan suicide with meticulous precision!“.
