Igede people respond to James Ibechi on AD’OJU ACCUSES OMI’ NY IGEDE PRESIDENT GENERAL, ODE ENYI, OF CORRUPTION

Igede people respond to James Ibechi on AD’OJU ACCUSES OMI’ NY IGEDE PRESIDENT GENERAL, ODE ENYI, OF CORRUPTION

Emmanuel Ibu I know that people normally run away when they wanted to make them traditional ruler in Igede in those days, for the fear of all that is entails in becoming a traditional ruler, but because these positions are juicy as government have a stake in it people are fighting to be one today. In Igede there conditions that qualify one to be a Chief, it is not anyone that is interested. This has to do with your birth, your characters, your linage and your ability to lead people with bias and selfishness. Most of the people that are fighting to be either third class or first class Chief by all means have their personal plan which is not far from greed. Igede people must be mature, bold and decisive in selecting who become our first class Chief. We must borrow cue from the Tiv Nation in selecting who occupy the office. Posterity will not forgive us if we fail. This is our ample chance to show to the world that we can handle issues that concern us without rancour. Igede people have suffered enough in the hands of our so-called political god fathers, they must not be allow to hijack this one, if not Igede nation is gone. God forbid that it should happen. God bless Igede Nation.

Abraham Okwe Igede people are epitome of wisdom and knowledge known world over, no single individual or few cabals can hood wig Igede nation in to believing wrong process of doing thing where a law is clearly stated. We await the truth which will certainly play out in this episode, let the gullible and desperate ones be deceived with money bags but truth and due process will certainly have the day Ibechi

Emmanuel Inmoh Ochi Political juxtaposing, positional manoeuvring/wrangling has begun under your nose with blackmailing.

The allegation of corruption is the beginning by the complaint to argue to replace or be promoted to the title of paramount chief of Igedeland. Can you not see?

Igede is not synonymous with Oju and vice versa. Same theme

Peter Brown Alenwu On Ode Enyi: I'm still in shock to believe that Ode Enyi is a member of Omi'Ny Igede, and even the acting President. How funny! I think Omi'Ny Igede is to Igede what Arewa is to the Northern Nigerians, Ndigbo is to Ibo, Afenefere is to Yoruba. If we therefore value this organisation which I hitherto respect, the activities of people like Ode should be thoroughly checked. I'm saying this based on what I read from him as broadcasted by Andyson, his cohort, I knew then that he's got some sinister ambitions or he's some common tout pay to vomit gibberish (his choice of words is terribly immature and grammar is pathetic). Back to the main matter: I want to agree with the Deputy Governor that Omi'Ny Igede can not impose it's decision on the traditional rulers. I used to think Igede has a strong umbrella body of elders where serious matter of this nature ought to be resolved without rancour. It won't be well with GREED

Onwu Isaac It's a one-sided report if i may say cos i was in the meeting too. Neither the law nor the Deputy Governor allows one or a set of traditional ruler(s) to arrange the process of selecting another traditional ruler and a higher one at that. The Deputy Governor said ''the sole administrators of Oju and Obi should go and arrange for a meeting with adu'utu of Oju and Obi, the district heads, all the contestants and stakeholders drawn from every region of Oju and Obi and zone the position...." So the Hon. Commissioner was wrong after all. James, i used to know you for your balance reportage

  1. Where then can we get the unadulterated info regarding the process leading to the selection of Chief in IgedeLand? When it is now clear to us that reporters of the process are now reporting a cooked info that favours some particular group of people in the stead of the true report that truely transpired in the meeting in question. Hmmm! May God help us in this issue at stake.
